Responsible AI in education has a simple rule: AI supports your learning, it never replaces it. Four pillars make that concrete.
The pillars
- Transparency: disclose when work is AI-assisted. Your teacher should know what the model contributed.
- Verification: you own every fact you submit. AI output is a draft, not a source.
- Ownership: submit AI work as your own? That’s plagiarism. Use AI to learn, then produce your own work.
- Data protection: never paste private data — yours or anyone’s — into a chatbot. Prompts can be stored and reviewed.
Litmus test: would you be comfortable if your teacher saw exactly how you used AI? If yes, you’re within the pillars. If no, stop and rethink.
